Marilyn Palmer Fandom

Ahead of the pilot's airing, Lucy Clark of The Sun-Herald described Martin and Lance as "Two surfie blokes who are thick as two short planks". Martin and Lance were branded the "thickest characters ever to grace soapland" by a columnist from the Daily Record. A columnist from Inside Soap said that when Martin spent time with Vinnie Patterson they were "a match made in dodgy business hell". Another writer from the publication branded Martin "the bay's original wheeler dealer". Martin and Lance watch new arrivals in town Carly Morris , Lynn Davenport and Sally; he is instantly taken with Carly.

Ash and Phoebe break up when she finds out Ash was heavily drunk at a bar and finds a barmaid from the bar in his house the next day and assumes he is cheating on Phoebe and tells her the truth. The barmaid returns to collect her jewellery and Ash told her that he and Phoebe breaks up because he cheated on her. But the barmaid says that they have not slept together and she slept on the couch during the night he was drunk. Ash tells Phoebe the truth but Phoebe tells him that they can't be together anymore and they end things for good. Ash is held hostage by Dylan in his house, along Kat and Billie too.

Alf Stewart

His character took a temporary break in April, ahead of his departure on 20 June 2018. Donovan won the role of Al and began filming for Home and Away on 23 October 1989. However, Donovan said that he intentionally played him as a "loveable villain". Clive Hopwood in his book Home and Away Special, described Al as Bobby Simpson's missing "father" who "crosses words" with Donald Fisher because he knows a "dark and murky secret" about him.

When they start to get on too well, Lance becomes scared and breaks up with Marilyn. He then asks her to pretend she broke up with him, so Colleen does not come down hard on him. She's the stepmother to Donald's children, Bobby Simpson, Alan and Rebecca Fisher and John's daughter, Shandi Palmer.

Rebecca discovers the truth and Barbara is arrested and later committed to a mental institution. Alf shortly disowns her but they reconcile when she returns for his sixtieth birthday party in 2005.

Marilyn then changes her mind about the vow renewal and they go through with the ceremony. When John's wife Gina dies of a brain aneurysm, Marilyn supports him through his grief and realises that she has feelings for John. Her friends dissuade her from asking him out as he is still grieving for Gina, but they eventually admit their feelings for each other and also go into business together.
